Ms. Armida Salsiah ALISJAHBANA, UN Undersecretary General, Executive Secretary of UN ESCAP visited the National University of Mongolia
Ms. Armida Salsiah ALISJAHBANA, UN Undersecretary General, Executive Secretary of UN ESCAP delivered a lecture on “Regaining Momentum in Asia Pacific SDGs Implementation” to the students of the School of International Relations and Public Administration, National University of Mongolia on March 1, 2023 as a guest speaker and shared her experience and expertise in the latest activities of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (ESCAP), UN with the SIRPA faculty members.
Prior to the lecture the President of the National University of Mongolia, Dr. Badarch Dendev received Ms. Armida Salsiah ALISJAHBANA as a special guest for the National University of Mongolia to discuss advancing bilateral ties between higher educational institutions, including the National University of Mongolia and international organization, ESCAP, UN within the framework of cooperation of educational sectors and shared their mutual interests in implementing joint academic research projects in the nearest future. It was a great opportunity for us to learn first-hand insights about the role of the ESCAP, how it helps UN as a leverage in an efficient way to reach out to the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Asia Pacific region, and what needs to be done to advance the sustainable, green, and inclusive growth in Mongolia.
